Encoding on-demand video content for use on mobile devices using Handbrake
Purpose:
Is to show the procedure to successfully encode your On Demand files for Mobile Streaming. This tutorial requires the use of Handbrake. This can be obtained from here: Download HandBreak
Step 1. Open Handbrake and select “Source” and “Video File” and select the video you would like to encode.
Step 2. Under “Picture” set “Anamorphic” to “None”.
Step 3. Set your Width at 480 and Height to 272 (Other resolutions can be used based on your original resolution).
Step 4. Under the “Video” tab set your Quality to Avg Bitrate to 450 (lower than 500 is recommended for mobile).
Step 5. Under the “Audio” tab set your Bitrate to 32k or 64k.
Step 6. Click “Browse” to set your video output location, enter a name and press “OK”.
Step 7. Press “Start” to encode your content, it should now be ready for use.
