Embedded Quicktime Player
August 31, 2009 0
Quicktime content is displayed by the quicktime player. You cannot directly link to the content using a hyperlink, as the content is delivered by the rtsp protocol, which is not supported by web servers. To allow your viewers to watch your content, you have to direct them to open Quicktime Player, choose File > Open URL, and enter the URL to your stream. For example, for a live stream; rtsp://qt2.netro.ca:554/netro/netro.sdp – please note, there is not content here. For an On Demand example; rtsp://qt2.netro.ca:554/netro/file.mpg It is possible to embed Quicktime Player in your webpage. To do this, you need to embed some code in your webpage. Edit the bold sections to match the stream details provided by NetroMedia, NOTE – link formats are as follows:
- Live – rtsp://server.com/pubpoint/streamname.sdp
- On Demand – rtsp://server.com/pubpoint/filename.ext (Supported extensions are .mov, .3gp)
