Message of Optimism and Determination
In Ottawa, Cameron spoke primarily on the world economy on a day global markets suffered. With reference to the late Winston Churchill, he called upon world nations to demonstrate the “political will” to find a “fundamental and lasting solution to the heart of the problem”.
In his address, the Prime Minister suggested:
- Quick action would avert the crisis deepening further.
- Healthy nations must help out. “In a global economy, we need every country in the world to show the leadership to address its problems.”
- Support for growth would create confidence and credibility.
