Mobile World Congress 2011

February 14-17, 2011: Barcelona mobile world congress

Mobile World Congress

At over 60,000 attendees from over 200 countries, The Mobile World Congress is the largest mobile trade show in the world. NetroMedia journeyed to Barcelona to be a part of it…

Introduction

Nearly 1,400 companies showcased their organisations using exhibition stands and hospitality space across eight halls at Fira, Barcelona. Visiting the exhibition halls provided sneak peeks at exciting new phones, tablets, technologies, applications, back-end solutions, accessories and more.

Yet Another Amazing Trade Show Experience . . .

The Mobile World Congress, generally averaging close to 50,000 attendees, is the world’s largest mobile-specific exhibition. On top of our existing mobile streaming solutions, we went to this event with improved live streaming services to mobile devices – including a new server-side bandwidth and protocol detection technology, an upgraded Custom Media Player and our VSiCaster unit designed for easy cross-platform Webcasting. Following the success of our visit to NAB 2010 conference and exhibition and IBC 2010, we continued our tradition of conducting one-on-one business meetings during the Mobile World Congress 2011.

Content

The MWC is all about content and trying to engage with the consumer. The vast majority of vendors at the show are involved in content, just as NetroMedia clients are businesses that create, own, publish, move or deliver content. As we are well-positioned to be able to deliver content to a multitude of devices within the space, we have a large role to play and can have a relationship with most of these players.

Inspiration

The MWC is where the biggest players in the technology world come together – it has the largest number and highest quality attendees. NetroMedia travelled to Barcelona, Spain to join their clients and peers to:

  • Be inspired by industry leaders
  • Showcase and grow their business
  • Learn about new technological breakthroughs in the industry
  • Networking opportunities
