NetroMedia to Launch Broadcasters Projects in Real Time at IBC 2011

July 13, 2011 2

NetroMedia, the streaming media company, today announced plans to provide real time demos of new project launches at IBC, the global media industry tradeshow, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, September 8 to 13, 2011.

Broadcasters attending IBC will have the opportunity to see their own content streamed live at the NetroMedia booth (Hall 6, booth 6.B22). NetroMedia’s streaming experts will take content owners through the simple steps required to get their media streaming online. The company’s multilingual streaming management portal and accessible streaming service enables broadcasters to quickly and efficiently reach their audience anytime, on any device.

"We’re very excited," said Che Pinkerton, NetroMedia’s CEO, "to be meeting with broadcasters from Europe, Africa and the Middle East to help them kickstart their upcoming mobile, live event and pay per view projects. It’s always interesting to see what innovative content broadcasters in these regions are developing."

NetroMedia has served broadcasters worldwide for over a decade and is at the forefront of Content Delivery Network (CDN) technology. The company’s leading edge solutions include cloud-based content delivery to all types of device through a single stream.

The annual IBC tradeshow encompasses the very latest developments in broadcasting, mobile TV, IPTV, digital signage and R&D. The industry show and conference covers thirteen halls of Amsterdam’s RAI Exhibition Centre and attracts over 48,000 attendees from more than 140 countries.

NetroMedia, which opened its European office in London earlier this year, is experiencing increasing growth in its European and African client base every month. As NetroMedia’s manager for Europe and Africa, Paul Dunn, notes, "The number of mobile phone subscribers in Africa has almost doubled since 2008. Broadcasters in the region are very interested in our mobile streaming solution, in part because the solution requires little dedicated infrastructure."

Following IBC, Mr. Pinkerton will be visiting NetroMedia’s European office as well as meeting with clients throughout Europe.

The company also expects to connect with many of its Middle Eastern clients at IBC, as the tradeshow has seen a steady increase of attendees from outside Western Europe since 2005. Taher al Tayeb, NetroMedia manager for the Middle East, mentioned, "We’re helping more and more broadcasters in the Middle East provide video-on-demand. Since fifty-five percent of the population there is under 25, companies are adapting to capture this key market. "
