Economic Address to Canadian Business Leaders

At the Parliamentary address, David Cameron covered topics from trade to world economy, to freedom and aid.

Message of Optimism and Determination

In Ottawa, Cameron spoke primarily on the world economy on a day global markets suffered. With reference to the late Winston Churchill, he called upon world nations to demonstrate the “political will” to find a “fundamental and lasting solution to the heart of the problem”.

In his address, the Prime Minister suggested:

  • Quick action would avert the crisis deepening further.
  • Healthy nations must help out. “In a global economy, we need every country in the world to show the leadership to address its problems.”
  • Support for growth would create confidence and credibility.
