It is often intimidating when you initiate an Internet brand identity or strategic business review of your organization. Where do you start? How much time and resources will have to be invested? What does the process look like to deliver an integrated web presence?
At NetroMedia, we ask relevant questions in order to develop a range of solutions that support your vision, business strategy, history and culture. Our belief is that all successful web development programs have six distinct components. While each component can be implemented individually, we have attempted to illustrate how they enhance and promote the effectiveness of your total Internet program when administered in a package.
Phase 1: Discovery
1. Do you feel your current site promotes a favorable user experience? Why or why not?
2. What specific areas of your current site do you feel are successful?
3. What shortcomings exist with the current site? What three things would you change?
4. Have you conducted usability tests or gathered visitor feedback for your current site?
5. If this is your first website? Please provide two examples of websites you admire.
Phase 2: Branding and Visual Identity
1. How important is it to maintain your current look, feel, logo, and branding?
2. What are the main reasons you are redesigning your visual identity?
3. What are your primary online business objectives with the site design?
4. What are your secondary objectives?
5. What is the main business goal you hope to achieve with the site design?
6. How will you measure the success of the solution?
7. What existing marketing strategy is in place to meet new business objectives?
Phase 3: Audience and Demographics
1. Describe a typical client. How often are they online? What do they use the web for?
2. Give basic demographics: age, occupation, income level, purchasing habits.
3. What is the primary action the client should take when coming to your site?
4. What are the key reasons why the target audience chooses your product?
5. How do most people find out about your services and products?
6. Do you have a planned marketing strategy in mind to promote this site design?
Phase 4: Business Development and Planning
1. Use a few adjectives to describe how your client should perceive the new site.
2. How is your company currently perceived offline?
3. Do you want to carry the same kind of message through your website?
4. How does your company differentiate itself from competitors?
5. Do you think your current audience differentiates you from your competition?
6. List three competitor URLs.
Phase 5: Content Administration and Protosite Production
1. Will this site use existing content?
If yes, what is the source? How will it be delivered to NetroMedia?
If no, who will be creating the content?
2. Will this site use existing graphics and images?
3. How does your company differentiate itself from competitors?
4. Do you think your current audience differentiates you from your competition?
5. List three competitor URLs.
6. Describe visual elements or content that should be utilized from your current
marketing materials (logo, color scheme, navigation, naming conventions, etc.)
Phase 6: Technology
1. What is your target platform and browser?
2. Are there specific technologies (Flash, JavaScript, DHTML, etc.) that you would like to use in the site? If so, how will they enhance the user experience?
3. Will you have database functionality (dynamic content generation, personalization, login)?
4. Do you already have a database in place? Please describe it in detail.
After this information has been filtered our team puts together a comprehensive proposal to deliver you an outstanding web project.
